BIO
As a professional
writer and performer for over 30 years in diverse genres, I know a thing
or two about a thing or two.
I reside in Florida,
where I began my career working for KISS, immediately after graduation
from UofF with a B.F.A. in Technical and Performance Theatre. But don't
let the major fool you! It was major work. There's more than play to staging
plays. The history of art, fashion, lighting, literature and architecture
were just part of the comprehensive curriculum.
In 2000, I earned
a M.A. in Behavioral Science from Trevecca University in Nashville. This
credential should give you confidence in my skills as a researcher, interviewer
and coach. I can get to the heart of the client, while maintaining marketable,
customized copy. The content will keep the intent in mind and in spirit.
Also while in Nashville,
I spent twenty years in country and gospel music as a writer for such
companies as Warner Chappell. At XM Satellite Radio my station imaging
copy and voicing was heard on 4 channels. Texaco, Ruth Eckerd Hall and
more have employed me to get their "voice" heard in copy form.
At XM Satellite Radio,
I wrote and voiced for different formats, from a redneck barrel racer
waitress on Hank's Place, known as The Tender Tiger, to a sultry voiced
siren on the Heart and 40s Channel. Writing fun copy, is serious business
to me. So is singing. I can do that too. I've written jingles and had
hit songs of my own. On My Way Home was the most recent title under
my singing name of Mary Kilroy.
I can put music pads
under your copy for an earful as well as an eyeful for web content!
I write features for
regional magazines and have interviewed national and local personalities
with the same regard. Everybody is somebody to me.
So if you need somebody
to write for you, write to me!
